Our newest print collection has landed. Think bold prints, colourful organic forms, and a nod to nature that takes you right back to the spirit of mountain missions. Designed in collaboration with Cape Town artist Kim van Vuuren, the new collection captures the energy of the mountain mission with bold prints, signature Merino performance, and fits that look as good as they perform.
In case you missed it, here’s a sneak peek at the new collection. Bonus points for how much party was squeezed into these party shirts.

How did this collaboration come about?
Hannah Acland, Creative Director and co-founder of Mons Royale, first found Kim van Vuuren almost two years ago, in 2024. A South African artist who was living in Barcelona, Kim’s use of bold colours and abstract organic forms immediately drew Hannah’s eye.
“I was so drawn to Kim’s use of bold colour,” says Hannah. “With Mons, we really lead with a lot of colour. It‘s such a fun form of expression, especially for gear you're wearing in the outdoors.”
Hannah quickly reached out to Kim, and it was an instant match. An email turned into a phone call, a phone call into a design, and soon, that design became a print across a range of Mons Royale Merino goods. All ready for your next mission. Performance never looked so good.

What inspired the design?
Mountain missions. The energy of the summit. The thrill of the climb, the playfulness of the hills. This print collection is an ode to the raw beauty of the outdoors and the chasing of summit highs.
“It’s about capturing that real essence of the human spirit within nature. It’s so much more than just a print or a logo and a cool shape. It's about capturing what it means to be in the outdoors,” says Kim van Vuuren.
For Kim, that inspiration was found in two worlds: the raw beauty of South Africa, and the structured industrial grit of Barcelona.
“I'm really obsessed with the unseen. I don't just look at a mountain, I look at how its silhouette cuts into the sky. I look for the beauty in the spaces between objects, the rhythm of the shadows falling across buildings.”
Kim and Hannah went deep into the concept of the summit. Every piece embodies the spirit of adventure and the unyielding call of nature, embracing the thrill of the ascent and the joy of the journey.
“We wanted a visual kit that felt like an extension of the terrain, pieces designed to feel as intentional in the studio as they do in the wild.”

Connecting art and apparel through nature
For Mons Royale, the opportunity to collaborate with artists from the other side of the world feels like more than a simple print. It’s connecting art and apparel through nature.
“As a massive believer in natural fibres and moving away from plastics, the opportunity to work with artists and designers as a vehicle to share creative stories through natural fibres is super exciting to me,” says Hannah.
“In a world where everything is so fast fashion and everything is produced so quickly, it's hard to know what's real and what's not. And I think in a world of so much fake shit, it's just so important to be real.”
